It was a busy weekend for Provincial Police in Northwestern Ontario.
Officers in the Upsala area responded to 43 collisions between Friday and Sunday.
One of the biggest collisions was an eight vehicle crash on Highway 17 near Upsala.
Six transports and two vehicles were involved and two people were transported to hospital in Dryden with non-life threatening injuries.
By the end of the day Saturday, there were 16 transports involved in collisions or driven off the road into the ditch.
The Trans-Canada was closed east of Upsala for roughly 9-hours as a result.
There were no fatalities.
All highways are open today but extreme caution is urged.
