OPP remind public of consequences to entering restricted areas

Ontario Provincial Police are adding to the warnings about the need to stay away from areas of northwestern Ontario where Ministry of Natural Resources wildland firefighters are.

The Ministry has put in place implementation orders in some areas to restrict public access.

This includes the closure of several forestry roads.

OPP says failing to comply with those orders can lead to charges that can result in a fine of $880.00.

Motorists also face the threat of an additional fine of $110.00 and three demerits if they are charged with failing to comply with the road closure signs.

These maps show areas where implementation orders are in effect until further notice.
