OPP Suspend Search For Missing Man

The search for a missing Winnipeg Man on Pelican Pouch Lake northwest of Kenora has been suspended.

OPP inspector Jeff Duggan says weather conditions at this time of year are just too unpredictable.

“We continued our search efforts as long as we could with our Emergency Response Team, our K-9 Unit and our Underwater Search and Recovery Unit,” states Duggan.

“But these search efforts are really tough for us because of the changing weather conditions and the ice conditions.”

Duggan says the search for 62-year-old Harold Slegers will resume once the ice conditions stabilize.

He was reported missing on November 8th by his family.
