Opposition MP’s Not Warming Up To Budget

Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP John Rafferty says the federal budget does nothing to help northwestern Ontario.
The NDP member says FedNor was left out of the fiscal document and notes tens of millions of dollars have been taken out of the economic agency.
Rafferty adds the budget contained no help for the forestry sector.
Rafferty says there is nothing in the budget that will help struggling families in the country.
Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Bruce Hyer sees some positives but says they are few and far between.
The Green party member says he’s disappointed that the government isn’t going after the banks and larger corporations, instead keeping small businesses and average families overtaxed.
Hyer says tax breaks for mining exploration and $100-million for apprenticeship programs are the only good points in the budget for him.
