Opposition To Planned Closure Of Veterans Office

The pressure is starting to mount against a Federal Government plan to close the only Veterans Affairs Office in northwestern Ontario.
The office in Thunder Bay is scheduled to be shut down next year.
Thunder Bay Councillor Ken Boshcoff says people want that one-on-one experience and don’t want to deal with a machine.
Mayor Keith Hobbs stresses veterans don’t deserve to dial a 1-800 number, be put on hold and wait for their issues to be addressed.
Hobbs says vets across the north don’t need additional stress.
Thunder Bay Council has voted to write Minister Julian Fantino saying they are opposed to the closures of VA offices across Canada.
