OPSEU Offered Contract Extension

Three days have been set aside for unionized government workers to vote on a four year contract extension.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union says the provincial government put forward the extension offer on June 2nd and it contains a number of wage and other improvements and demands no concessions of public service employees.

The union stresses it doesn’t take effect unless it’s ratified by the parties.

Voting takes place June 20th to 22nd.

The current contract ends on December 31st.

OPSEU represents some 36,000 workers.
