OPSEU Pickets #2

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union wants the

McGuinty Government to invest an extra 60 million dollars

into the provincial Disability Support Program.

ODSP employees picketed across the province Tuesday, and

several gathered around the regional office in Kenora.

OPSEU Spokesperson Melissa Pearson says they are in

desperate need of the extra funding.

Q:”…them.” 16 seconds

OPSEU believes the extra funding will help bring

caseload ratios in line with the national average.

In some situations income support specialists deal with

530 benefit claims, compared to the national average of

200 per person.
