Organ Donation Numbers Low In Ontario

Not enough Ontarians are giving the gift of life.
Just over 66,000 people registered for organ and tissue donation in the past three months, which is only 22 percent of the eligible population.
Northern Ontario continues to lead, but the lowest numbers are seen in the greater Toronto area.
One donor can save up to eight lives, and enhance the lives of 75 others through the gift of tissue.
Right now, over 1,500 Ontarians are waiting for an organ transplant, and every three days, one of them will die waiting.
