A Restricted Fire Zone will remain in effect this weekend in several
parts of Northwestern Ontario.
Open burning is banned with the exception of Sioux Lookout and Ear Falls and all areas North of the community’s
as well as east of Savant Lake.
Travis Moffat is the Information Officer with the Ministry of Natural
Resources and says the rest of the region will be under the ban for a little while yet.
The largest fire is still out of control south of Vermilion Bay however
crews have made great progress on the 2,600 hectare blaze.
