Open Roads School hopes to begin construction of a new Outdoor Classroom next year.
The Dryden school has received $10,000 from TD Bank to move forward with the structure.
Principal Tanis Mitani-Oberg says the classroom will be located outside on the south side of the school and will allow students to interact with natural elements.
She says it will include fruits and vegetable gardens and they will be harvesting that food for their school “Salad Bar”.
Once built, students will learn about animal habitats, science, weather, tree species as well as a number of other topics.
Vice-Principal Teri Jackson is thanking their Parent Council for their help in launching the classroom as well as TD Bank for their donation.
