UPDATE: 9 Cases Added In Thunder Bay District

The second wave has added nine new COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay District.

The Health Unit says that includes two in the Southbridge Roseview care home outbreak.

Most of the rest of the cases caught the virus through close contact, while health officials are still confirming how the remaining person was infected.

One person is from a community in the district, and the rest are from Thunder Bay or the surrounding area. The district currently has 123 active cases.

It’s the fourth day in a row with over 1,800 new COVID-19 cases in the province.

Positive test results came back for 1,873 people, while the province confirmed 17 more deaths from the virus.

Health officials also performed a record 63,000 tests in a single day.
