Overcrowding At Thunder Bay Hospital Reaches Crisis Stage

A crisis situation if you have to seek treatment at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

It appears that overcrowding problems at the hospital will not be improving anytime soon.

Acting CEO Dr. Stewart Kennedy says it’s the worst he’s ever seen and officials are working their hardest to fix the problem.

Kennedy says the problem has become so bad they’ve had to resort to putting male and female patients in the same room and in some cases, disregarding insurance coverage when it comes to room placement.

He is urging people who feel they need to go to the emergency room to consider going to a walk-in clinic or to their family doctor or nurse practitioner.
