A fishing trip on Lake of the Woods, north of the Canada-U.S. border, has ended up costing a Minnesota man.
James Neilson of Andover was stopped by Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers on September 6th.
Officials say Neilson had his limit of walleye in his boat, but a later check found that he had additional walleye stored in his cabin and the resort’s freezer.
He has been slapped with a $3,000 fine for possessing 11-walleye over the legal limit.
