Owner of Sioux Hotel Convicted

The first convictions have been registered for violating Sioux Lookout’s Smoking By-laws.

Philip Baizer, Owner of the Sioux Hotel has been found guilty on 8 counts.

On 6 of them, he was fined $610 each for breaking the smoke-free public places rules, while on 2 counts of violating the work places by-law, the fine was $2,200.

Baizer was not present when the case was heard in a Sioux Lookout court.

The Sioux Hotel has been closed since losing its liquor license last month.
