Oxdrift Fire Department handles morning blaze

No one was hurt, but a fire to a business on Highway 17 west of Dryden needed assistance from both the Oxdrift Fire Department and the Dryden Fire Service.

Upon arrival, fire crews noticed light to moderate smoke and visible sparks coming from the welding shop area.

Further investigation revealed a deep-seated, smoldering fire in the roof.

The Dryden Fire Service was called out for use of its ladder truck, and fire fighters were able to cut holes in the roof.

The fire was eventually successfully extinguished.
