A 32-year-old Oxdrift man has been arrested following a robbery at a Highway 17 motel.
A night clerk reported the robbery around 1 o’clock Thursday morning.
Police say the accused entered the lobby of the motel with a knife and demanded money.
The clerk obliged and handed over the cash they had.
The accused then fled the scene in a cab but was tracked down and arrested a short time later behind a gas station on Government Street.
Police say Blake Kowalchuk faces charges of robbery with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death.
