There appears to be worldwide surprise to the reelection of Benjamin Netanyahu as the prime minister of Israel.
That includes Lakehead University political science professor Laure Paquette.
She says prior to the vote all the polls and political experts appeared to have written off Netanyahu.
However, Paquette says with Netanyahu at the helm again, Middle East peace may remain very elusive.
She says that’s because he’s such a hard liner that many world leaders just doesn’t like him.
However she says in times of insecurity Israeli voters vote for the right wing Likud party and adds, “wouldn’t you if you had ISIS active in your region?” (Photo: lakeheadu.ca)
