An annual report card from ParticipACTION says kids need to spend more time outside.
Child Safety Expert Mariana Brussoni says kids face greater risks if they aren’t allowed to be active outdoors.
She says they will turn to more “dangerous activities” or spend more time in front of the tube or computer screen.
Brussoni is calling on parents, educators and caregivers to plan for more time for kids to play as child and youth physical activity levels remain alarmingly low.
She notes being active is essential to ones development.
