The City of Thunder Bay has been granted approval to take part in an inquest into the deaths of 7-aboriginal youth in Thunder Bay.
City Lawyer Stephen Wojciechowski says they’ve been given the green light to speak at the inquest.
He notes the City has a unique perspective in terms of providing services within the community and supporting local residents.
Wojciechowski stresses that especially applies to youth.
A hearing date hasn’t been set in stone but is believed to start in the spring of 2014.
Others who received permission include the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation and the Thunder Bay Police Services Board.
