“Path Of The Paddle” Moving Forward

Work on creating the “Path of the Paddle” continues to move forward.
A public meeting was held yesterday in Dryden to outline the progress being made on the roughly 900-kilometre water route.
Vicki Kurz says it’s her hope to establish the trail within the next two years.
Kurz says the next step is establishing a committee and securing agreements with area First Nations.
The committee will make critical decisions about the canoe and kayak route, entry points and its relationship with local tourist outfitters and businesses.
The trail will be part of the Trans Canada network and will span from Thunder Bay to the Manitoba boundary.
