Patty Hajdu Heading Back To Ottawa

Patty Hajdu is heading back to Ottawa now that she has been given a strong mandate by voters in Thunder Bay-Superior North.

The Liberal Cabinet Minister pulled away early to earn 42.6% of voter support.

“Ultimately this is a team sport. So I have to thank the volunteers that work so hard. We’ve knocked thousands upon thousands of doors. Talked to so many people in Thunder Bay-Superior North and of course I’ve had four years to develop relationships across the region and I think that certainly helped.”

Hajdu says it’s too early to tell what the government will look like now that they are in a minority situation.

“I know that the Prime Minister wants to make sure that we have a Canada where everybody has a fair chance to succeed. I suspect that’s the goal of the NDP. I can’t really speculate what that will look like. Obviously there’s a lot of work to go forward in terms of determining how that will look.”
