Paul Parsons is looking to make the jump from Councillor to Mayor in Red Lake.
Parsons is currently serving his second term as Councillor.
He says he will try for a two-year debt reduction plan with no decrease in services.
He is also calling for more accountability for taxpayer dollars as well as an economic plan.
The Balmertown resident says he understands the problems facing the community and he enjoys the challenge of politics.
Parsons is promising to listen to all views in order to move the community forward.
