PC Leader Asking Energy Mininister To Intervene On Hydro Increase

Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown is calling on the Minister of Energy to step-in and reject a Hydro One application to increase rates.

Brown stresses a $141 hike over four years is unfair and unaffordable.

Brown is calling on Glenn Thibeault to cancel all increase applications until executive compensation is reined in at Hydro One and the government has stopped signing expensive, new, unneeded power contracts.

He says hard-working Ontario families should not be forced to pay even higher electricity rates as a result of short-sighted government policies.

He points out the Auditor General has even confirmed that the government has massively overpaid for green energy contracts.
