Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown calls a provincial commitment to build an All-Weather Access Road to the Ring of Fire nothing but “window dressing”.
Brown says Premier Kathleen Wynne has a horrible track record on following through with the project over the last decade.
He says let’s not be tricked that this “Groundhog Day” movie will change this time around.
Brown says the Liberals have promised action on the massive mining project time and time again, but they can’t be trusted.
He questions where the funding is coming from for the road network, noting there was no mention of the Ring of the Fire in the most recent budget.
Brown adds the Premier once promised $60-billion for the mining development, but notes not a penny has been spent.
Brown notes Kathleen Wynne is currently visiting northwestern Ontario to make announcements only because we are less than a year away from an election.
