NDP leadership candidate Peggy Nash is defending her stance on the Federal Long Gun Registry.
Nash was in Thunder Bay Monday and says the Prime Minister is using the gun registry to get votes.
Nash says she believes in Leader Jack Layton’s gun registry plan that included public consultation over what annoys the public about the registry.
Nash adds if she’s elected Party Leader, she will work to improve regional economic plans.
Another campaign promise is securing transit funding.
The Northern Ontario NDP Leadership Debate will take place in Sudbury this weekend.
