A Pennsylvania hunter has been ordered to pay $2,000 after attempting to cover up his illegal deer kill.
Court heard that last November, Conservation officers came across Edward Krakowski south of Kenora, and found blood on him and his hunting equipment.
Krakowski told officers that he didn’t shoot a deer, but had helped another hunter to field dress one.
An investigation determined the hunter lied to conservation officers and that Krakowski failed to attach a valid hunting game seat to the harvested deer.
He is banned from hunting in Ontario for one year.
