The Ontario SPCA Branch in Dryden and Kenora is asking pet owners to
leave their pets at home.
With the Region still stuck in a heat wave, officials with the SPCA
say they along with Police in both City’s have fielded several calls about
animals being left in parked vehicles.
Officials say a pet can sucumb to heat exhaustion within minutes of
spending time in a vehicle and they are better off at home with
plenty of water.
The SPCA urges anyone who witnesses an animal stuck inside a vehicle
to contact the local office or Police.
