Pickle Lake Dangerously Close to Fires

Three forest fires came dangerously close to the Town of Pickle Lake this week.
Mayor Roy Hoffman says fortunately all of the cards are falling in their favour.
Hoffman credits quick response by Ministry of Natural Resources Fire Crews as well as the Municipal Fire Service.
He adds if the wind picked up, things could have been a lot worse.
The fires have burned 8-hectares of land and are considered held or under control.
The cause of the fires are being investigated.
No damage has been reported.
