Laws are now in effect for the removal of pit bulls from the province, and it comes despite some owners saying pit bulls are not always the vicious animals they are made out to be.

Herbert says if you are unsure about your dog, contact a veterinarian and they will advise you on the pet.
The new pit bull legislation that requires them to be muzzled and leashed in public went into effect in August.
As well, by October 28th, all pit bulls must be spayed or neutered.
