Planning for phase 2 of twinning Highway 17 west begins

The second phase of twinning the Trans-Canada Highway west of Kenora has begun.

Preliminary design work of the 8.5 kilometer section between the road to Shoal Lake #39 and the Rush Bay weigh scales is taking place.

As well, a class environmental study to review the four lane alternatives for Highway 17 is also starting.

Ultimately a preferred option will be selected.

The first phase from the Manitoba Border to Highway 673 is already well underway.
