Plastic Bag Ban Survives Second Reading

Sioux Lookout is close to becoming the first town in Ontario to ban plastic bags in stores.
Council has approved the second reading of the ‘Ban the Bag’ Bylaw.
Municipal Clerk Mary MacKenzie says a lot of work still needs to be done before a final reading.
She says council still needs to do more consultations with the public.
She adds that the bill might not see a final reading until the September meeting.
