A court proceeding involving a long-standing mining dispute on a
Northwestern Ontario First Nation has resumed in Ontario Superior Court.
The case revolves around drilling activity Platinex undertook on Big
Trout Lake First Nation in 2006 after receiving a permit from the Province.
The First Nation claims they weren’t consulted.
The court is expected to extend or change an order halting the company
from mining on the territory and the Province is involved in the hearing.
