For the last three years the family of a Sioux Narrows man has been searching for answers.
Wednesday marked the anniversary since 60-year-old Richard Roach was found unresponsive on the side of Apache Road in Sioux Narrows, where he was pronounced dead on scene.
He was last seen at a party in a nearby residence on the evening of February 7th, 2015.
The Provincial Police have been investigating the circumstances surrounding his death but so far have not found the party responsible.
The OPP and the family of Roach held a press conference on Wednesday to raise more awareness.
Detective Inspector Randy Heida is the case manager and says getting information from the public is crucial in helping this case move forward.
“The question in this case is somebody did this to this man, the evidence is that he was hit by a vehicle. We need to find out if there are eye witnesses out there that we haven’t spoken to yet. If there is somebody that’s out there that wants to talk to us, we want the message out there that we are ready to talk to them and we want to hear what they have to say.”
For the family, not knowing what happened to their brother is what is the hardest.
Roach’s sister Shannon Rodrigues says all they want is answers.
“We just want answers, we are not bitter. To the person that is responsible, I wouldn’t want to wake up everyday feeling the guilt you must feel, I couldn’t live with that and I don’t know how they could. Freedom is letting go, you’re not going to feel at peace with yourself unless you come forth and help us and help yourself at the same time.”
The family also spoke highly of Roach’s character during the press conference.
His brother Robert Roach says he was one of the kindest men he ever knew.
“I wish I had a lot more attributes that my brother had, he was that nice of a person. I think anyone who got to know him knows what I’m talking about, just an amazing person and good person all around. He was so selfless, he would always try to make others laugh.”
In August of 2015 the Government of Ontario announced they are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who is responsible.
