Plenty Of Interest For Summer Event

Plans for a summer event in Dryden are moving forward.
Roughly 25-people attended a public meeting last night, with enough interest to form a new committee to get the ball rolling.
Suzanne Scherban is leading the campaign and she was pleased with the turn-out and the feedback generated at the meeting.
The plan is to get businesses, food producers, crafters, artists and musicians involved and have the event every Thursday in July and August.
A dedicated group of volunteers are now involved and will be spearheading the event.
One of the ideas is having downtown streets closed at various times for displays, buskers and entertainment.
Scherban is also asking businesses to beautify their property.
Scherban says Dryden needs some inspiration right now and believes this event will improve the mood of the community.
She stresses we should be moving forward and not dwelling on what is going on in the municipality.
