Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he welcomes debate on the proposed Energy East pipeline project.
There’s no doubt there’s division on the project, with varying opinions in recent polls.
Trudeau maintains when you have different views, you come up with better solutions.
He says by listening to the various opinions, they will be able to find common ground.
Support for the project is highest in Alberta at 87%, whereas in Quebec, 58% are opposed.
