All front line officers with the Dryden Police Service will now be equipped with tasers.
The government has allowed the use of tasers for all police departments in Ontario.
The Dryden Police Services Board has approved the measure.
Chief Rob Davis says it’s another safety measure.
Davis says the evidence shows that tasers are an effective tool to deescalate situations.
He says there is no added cost as the service already has the tasers in their possession.
