Police Charge Second Person In Gun Sting Operation

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have arrested a Fort Frances man in connection with a gun-smuggling operation.
Police say 22-year-old Thomas Peter Atkinson faces 27 charges in connection to an investigation earlier this month.
The Mounties say the charges have to do with the sale and possession of two assault rifles, a handgun and ammunition.
Prior to Atkinson’s arrest, police had arrested Shawn Hartnell, also of Fort Frances, in North Dakota.
Charges include unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful transportation of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon
