A 21 year old woman sustained serious injuries as a
result of an explosion on a houseboat moored at the
Harbourfront docks last night.
The Kenora police say the woman was the only person on
board at the time, and was rescued from the water by a
local resident.
The blast took place around 7:30 last night and destroyed
a 43 foot houseboat.
Kenora Fire Cheif Warren Brinkman says the cause of the
explosion is still under investigation and an official from
the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office is being sent to Kenora
to help out.

A couple of children had been playing on a nearby dock
and were also taken to hospital as a precaution, but were
later released.
