Be on the lookout for an increased police presence on area roads this long weekend.
From Friday to Monday, the Dryden Police Service and police agencies across Canada will be taking part in Operation Impact.
Chief Rob Davis says officers will be on the lookout for distracted drivers, aggressive driving, drunk drivers and those not wearing their seatbelts.
He adds that distracted driving is a big issue in the region, and there have been numerous complaints by residents who see people on their cell phones while behind the wheel.
The Ontario Provincial Police will also be cracking down on rule-breakers this weekend.
Acting Sergeant with the Northwest Division Anne McCoy says it’s important that drivers focus on the task at hand, instead of scrolling through their phones, or even GPS units.
The fine for distracted driving is $155.
