The OPP along with the Nishnawbe Aski Police are investigating a death on the Poplar Hill First Nation.
Last Tuesday, police were contacted about an infant in medical distress.
They were flown to Winnipeg hospital for treatment but passed away.
The OPP’s Criminal Investigations Branch and the NAPS Crime Unit are now in charge of the investigation, along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Police don’t believe there is any threat to public safety.
Poplar Hill is about 275 kilometers northwest of Dryden.
