Dryden Police have arrested a Geraldton man in relation to an assault that happened at a local fast-food restaurant. Police say 22-year-old Christopher Donylyk was arrested Thursday evening when he offered to turn himself in after learning of the investigation into the assault that was captured on video and posted on social media. Police say that Donylyk is charged with assault and will appear for a bail hearing in Sioux Lookout on March 22. The Dryden Police requested the public’s assistance and many leads were called in from people in Northwestern Ontario and Minnesota that had viewed the video. The investigation reached Pikangikum and Geraldton, with members of the Ontario Provincial Police stationed in those communities assisting in the investigation. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
