Ontario Provincial Police say a theft of gasoline turned into a pursuit in Ignace.
Ignace OPP say on Friday May 19th, they were called to investigate a theft of gas from K & S Petro Canada and found the suspect vehicle headed eastbound on Highway 17.
Police say the suspect turned down a side road 40 km east of Ignace.
Officers mention the suspect vehicle was located on Highway 599 and he ran over a spike belt placed by police.
OPP say the suspect was then found trying to steal another vehicle and was arrested in a parking lot of a business in Ignace.
Police say 35 year old Gordon Rafuse from Halton Hills in Southern Ontario faces many charges which are Flight while pursued by peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft under $5000 of a motor vehicle, theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, failing to comply with recognizance and driving while under suspension.
Provincial Police say Rafuse was held in custody and will appear for a Bail Hearing in Sioux Lookout Court on May 24, 2017.
