Political Change Locally Comes Today

There will be a changing of the guard in the Kenora-Rainy River riding Thursday.

Incumbent Sarah Campbell has opted not to seek re-election to spend more time with her family, opening the door to a new local provincial representative.

Kenora jail guard Glen Archer has replaced Campbell as the NDP candidate.

He’s going up against former Federal Conservative Cabinet Minister Greg Rickford, Karen Kejick of the Liberals and Dryden teacher Ember McKillop of the Green party.

In the new riding of Kiiwetinoong, it’s considered a three way battle between Lac Seul Chief Clifford Bull of the Conservatives, Sioux Lookout Mayor Doug Lawrance of the Liberals and Sol Mamakwa of the NDP.

They are joined by Christine Penner Polle of the Green party and Kenneth Jones of the new Northern Ontario party.
