Pollen and Lakes #1

A recent University of Alberta study shows pollen is

beneficial for nutrient lacking aquatic ecosystems.

Biological Sciences Researcher Mark Graham says pollen,

leaves, and insects from the surrounding terrestrial

environment can help boreal lakes.

Q:”…nutrient.” 23 seconds

The study found plankton responded strongly to additions

Graham’s project was conducted along the shorelines of

three boreal lakes in Northwestern Ontario’s experimental
