The organizers of the Can-Skate program in Dryden are looking for more members.
Coordinator Janice Radburn and instructors Mark Ziebro of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and 11-year-old Brianne Kudlacek were all guests on the CKDR Morning Show Friday.
Radburn says it’s never too late to join the fun program.
She notes they are seeing more younger skaters enrol in the program.
Radburn notes Can-Skate can’t operate without the support of their volunteer instructors.
Ziebro is one of five members of the Ice Dogs helping out and says it’s great to give back to the community.
He says people helped him learn how to skate when he was younger and now he gets to experience the same thrill.
Ziebro notes it’s a trill to teach kids new skills and techniques.
Kudlacek says they adapt to the skills of individual skaters and help them learn new or basic skills.
