Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout and Fresh Market Foods have launched their annual “Positive Ticket” campaign.
Officers are hitting the streets this summer and if they notice a child practicing safe bicycle riding skills, they can thank them with a certificate for either a small ice cream cone or small slushy, and an OPP colouring book.
OPP note positive tickets may also be handed out for youth who are maintaining physical distancing, deterring crime, helping others in need, demonstrating leadership and community pride.
The purpose of the campaign is to thank kids for their safe and community-minded behaviours and enhance the relationship between police and youth.
