While calling it shocking and depressing, Avis says there was a hint of optimism for the future in that discussion.
He adds there’s indication of engineering going on with the number five paper machine which will take between 12-18 months.
Challenging market conditions and the high value of the Canadian dollar are being cited as the reasons for the shutdown.
