Oskisko Mining has started looking at the impacts of its proposed open-pit gold mine near Atikokan.
The company projects up to 2,000 employees in the construction phase and 500 in the mine.
Senior Advisor Mark Boller says a socio-economic impact study will identify workforce challenges.
Boller says one of the early challenges might be trying secure enough trained personnel to work at the site.
