Premier Kathleen Wynne says she’s pleased a new school year is underway in northwestern Ontario, with little troubles right now.
Two of four teacher unions have reached tentative deals.
Wynne is confident they can reach settlements with the other two bargaining units.
She admits it’s been a tough bargaining session as they don’t have any new money for compensation.
Wynne adds she only got involved in the process this summer to ensure there wouldn’t be any disruption to the school year.
She made the comments while in Kenora Wednesday.
