Six years after announcing funding to twin the Trans-Canada Highway west of Kenora, we’re still no closer to beginning construction.
Premier Kathleen Wynne says she can understand the frustration of local motorists, but says the government isn’t giving up on the project.
Wynne says they are committed to the project but notes they still have to consult with impacted First Nations.
Wynne is refusing to put a timeline on when we might actually see the project take shape.
She calls it a complicated issue.
